As is our tradition, this year, we are committing $60,000 in scholarship funds to twenty African graduating high school seniors with each receiving $3,000.
The scholarships will be awarded to students who reside/school at locations where our stores are located. We are looking for well-rounded young African women and men who demonstrate academic excellence, involvement in extracurricular activities, leadership, and/or perseverance.
• Candidate must be a graduating senior currently attending high school.
• Candidate must be enrolled or plan to enroll full-time in a 2 or 4-year College or University in Fall 2026.
The candidate must submit an essay on ONE of the two topics below. Essay must be double spaced, in Times New Roman, and in size 12 font. Maximum of 1500 words.
1. "A Moment That Changed My Perspective"
Write about a specific experience that shifted how you view life, success, or relationships. This could be a personal challenge, a travel experience, or even a small event that had a big impact.
2. "The Role of Technology in Shaping Our Future"
Explore how technology influences education, careers, or society. You can share your thoughts on its benefits, risks, and how you see it shaping your own future.
The candidate must submit the Essay and the following supporting documents:
1. An unofficial transcript of high school grades
2. Proof of SAT and/or ACT score (if applicable)
3. A letter of acceptance from a post-secondary institution
4. The below application form and signed Statement of Accuracy.

Submission kicks off March 2nd and the deadline is May 2nd, 2026. All applications, essays and supporting documents must be emailed to scholarships@southwestfarmersmarket.com. Please include all documents as direct attachments (PDF format) and not external links (Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.).
Winners will be contacted on or before June 15, 2026.
